Montessori STARS is a blended teaching of Maria Montessori, woven together with the freedom and exploration of Free Play, under the guidance of our;
Early Childhood Curriculum, Te Whāriki.
Our Philosophy guides and inspires our teaching and learning as we aim for all tamariki to develop to their full potential.
It is founded on three core values of Relationships/Ngā Hononga, Respect/ Whakaute, and Learning/Ako, and it is through these values that we honour our obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
We allow the time and space for every child to grow and learn in ways that are meaningful to them and their families.
We believe that each child is unique, teaching with inclusion, respect for individuality within the diverse range of cultures and ways of being present at Montessori STARS.
Our practice is founded on collaborative, responsive relationships, underpinned by communication, and bound in Aroha.
These relationships encourage integrity in our actions, and foster respect for ones self, for others, and for the things around us, both living and material.
We work to provide consistency in our delivery of a curriculum which inspires the confidence to be curious, independent, self-regulated, and well prepared for the next step of the child’s learning journey; Kura/Primary School.
